Given the lucrative career options in Retail sector, B.Voc. (Retail Management) and M.Voc. (Retail Management) are considered a wise choice for students.  After the successful completion of the programme, the students will be able to perform multiple job- roles like-retail manager, supply chain distributor, brand manager, departmental manager, merchandise manager, sales manager, store manager, etc.

The programme is structured to suit Industry-specific requirements. The course is supplemented with adequate retail store visits and guest lectures by retail experts to enrich the knowledge of the students.

The programme is designed as per the requirements of NSDC and RASCI. Our college is affiliated with RACSI, Mumbai for certification and placement of students. B.Voc. (Retail Management) is the only course in which certification of the students has been done up to NSQF LEVEL-7 for the job role of STORE MANAGER. All the students of B.Voc. (Retail Management) have cleared all the levels, i.e., LEVEL -4 for Sales Associate, LEVEL-5 for Team Leader, LEVEL-6 for Departmental Manager and LEVEL-7 for STORE MANAGER, which is a remarkable achievement. Even the University results of students of B.Voc. and M.Voc. (Retail Management) are 100%.

With the tremendous growth of economy, retail management has emerged as one of the fastest growing careers in India. The enormous expansion in the retail sector during the past few years has thrown up a big demand for skilled professionals in the field. It is an industry looking for people at all levels, from the people with basic skills, to well qualified supply chain and retail management professionals. This makes retail profession one of the most demanding careers of the era. This course is designed for those who are wishing to develop a career in retail management and anyone interested in working in the retail sector, or simply wanting to know more about retail trading and retail environment.

Highlights of Retail Management Department

Virtual Tour- Punjab’s First Retail Lab (SUKRITI- The Retail Lab)

The main highlight of the course is the RETAIL LAB, which is one of its kind in North India. KMV is the first college in Punjab to establish a RETAIL LAB. The students get hands-on experience of running a live retail store by performing their practical in the RETAIL LAB. Students get to learn the intricacies of retailing such as procurement, negotiation skills with vendors, pricing, store design and layout, customer service, etc. Students experience real customers in the form of students and teachers from all the departments of college.

As far as placements are concerned, it is again 100% in B.Voc. and M.Voc. (Retail Management). The students are eligible for both marketing and retail profiles. Some of the most prominent companies that come to campus every year for placements are Reliance Retail, Shoppers Stop, Pantaloons, Big Bazaar, Metro, etc. The students also get Live Projects opportunities with Pantaloons; Aditya Birla Group and Big Bazaar; Future Group, as they undergo on- the- job training at these renowned retail stores.
