Animation and VFX Industry

In India, Animation and VFX Industry is right on the growth track. With the Regional Animation demand on rise, introduction of new kids’ channels, many Indian studios working on high quality outsourcing projects, the animation industry continues to grow. It is expected to grow at 10.2 % in FY 18-23 as KPMG in India Analysis,2018 suggests.
Not only Animation, but Indian VFX players are also moving up the value chain. Many of the leading VFX houses are contributing to major block busters in foreign markets and the demand of VFX both in domestic films and TV shows has also increased remarkably.

As the Animation and VFX industry is growing, so does the demand for highly skilled professionals in the field. Recognising the need to bridge the Skill gaps, there have been steps taken in the right direction. One of such initiatives is setting up of Skill Development Centres – DDU Kaushal Kendra setup by MHRD, Govt of India.

The Animation and visual Effects (VFX) Industry has gained acceptance in the recent years. The industry has grown significantly over the years, not only supporting the growing Indian M & E sector but also serving the world. Broadcasters are partnering with animation stuidos making localised animated content. The evolution of online streaming services, with global players partnering with various studios in India, generate a wide range of job opportunities currently and in many years to come.
