Overview

As the nucleus of intellectual growth and development in any civilized society, any educational institution must have the potential of excellence to withstand the catalytic test of time. Every education system must have its own indigenous features/components to express and promote its unique socio-cultural identity besides meeting the challenges of time to leverage the existing potential opportunities. India, being the youngest nation of the world with over 50% of population under the age of 30 years, will have 25% of the world’s total workforce by 2025. It is the need of the hour to strengthen the educational base of India which is affordable, flexible and at the same time, relevant to all levels of needs of industry.

Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, since its inception in 1886, has always been instrumental in bringing about transformative changes in social order in general and the status of women in particular. In keeping with its mission and vision in 2015, KMV integrated innovative initiatives into its educational system towards up-gradation of skilled human competencies of its scholars to equip them with vocational and entrepreneurial skills. As a result of dynamic vision and adaptive attitude towards new-age requirements, KMV has been granted ‘Deen Dayal Upadhyay Centre for Knowledge ‘Acquisition and Livelihood’ (KAUSHAL KENDRA) under UGC. KMV has the proud distinction of being the first college having been granted this Skill Development Centre. The KMV-Kaushal Kendra, under this scheme, endeavours to maintain 3-tier system of student enrolment with respect to Diploma, Advance Diploma, B.Voc. and PG Diplomas and M.Voc. programmes.

To groom students with employability skills, KMV has designed all programmes with a provision of multiple entry and exit at various levels culminating up to research degree level. All programmes will be under Credit based system. Compulsory Course of Environmental Studies will be taught in Semester IV of all B. Voc. Classes.
